Firearms stolen from Dubbo home

Police are appealing for witnesses after a home was broken into at Dubbo last night.

About7.50pm(Friday 3 April 2015), a 58-year-old man left his home on Wilson Street, Dubbo, when he returned two hours later he found the front door had been broken into.

Police were contacted and officers from Orana Local Area Command attended and found that the house had been ransacked.

No one was at home during the incident.

Officers have been told that five registered firearms were stolen from a locked safe, these included;

– 22 calibre rifle,

– 12 gauge double barrel shotgun,

– 22 Magnum rifle,

– 6.5 calibre rifle, and

– 30 calibre rifle.

An investigation has commenced and the location and will be examined by specialist forensic officers.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or has information about the incident to contact Dubbo Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
